Updated

In short

Sprint start is a beginner-level track drill. Most races and almost every play start from a standing position. How you start decides a lot of what happens after. It builds acceleration, first step and drive phase. It needs no equipment, and can be done on a field. This page lists 5 numbered steps and 3 common mistakes with their fixes. The demonstration video is AI-generated.
